The Orthodox church in Strei in the region of Hunedoara is smaller than the Densuº church, but just as old (13th century), and displays a similar architecture. The interior frescoes have been preserved in the narthex and the choir; they were painted in the second half of the 14th century by one Master Grozie, who gave a naive and traditional interpretation to the Byzantine style. The only original outer decoration that has survived is the representation of Jesus Christ on the tympanum at the western entrance.
